2016 halo toys1/17/2024 Tail-end series tend to be under-produced, and I don’t think anyone wants to miss out on the final action figures in the legendary McFarlane Halo toy line. Halo 5: Guardians Series 2 is still available for pre-order both as individual figures and as a set of four, and I would urge any longtime McFarlane Toys collectors to place an order early for this set if they want to be guaranteed one. Oh yeah–I also met this guy here! A real class act, and an honor to meet at the show! Getting to meet Todd McFarlane himself (and get an autographed Agent Locke figure from him) really put the icing on my McFarlane Toys Halo collection that I will always cherish. Halo 5 Series 2 is expected to have an extremely high demand due to it being the final wave in the line, and collectors who definitely want it should make sure to place a pre-order or pick up the figures as soon as they spot them at retail. If McFarlane Toys were to make Halo figures again–which they are absolutely NOT at this time–they would likely be in the new standard 7″ collector figure scale that the other brands like Tokyo Ghoul, Gears of War 4, Titanfall, Attack on Titan, The Walking Dead and Naruto Shippuden will be in.The staff at McFarlane Toys were delighted that I enjoyed and remembered the old Halo Points promotion (which, to this day, is the best mail-in toy promo of the last decade or more). However, retailers were wary of the high price-point (likely $79.99) and thus the Falcon was cobwebbed. At one point, McFarlane Toys really was planning on releasing a 6″ scale UNSC Falcon vehicle, and an incredible-looking prototype for the vehicle was created.McFarlane’s license for Halo ran out, and 343 Industries chose not to renew the license, granting the new master license to Mattel instead. It was not McFarlane Toys’ choice to stop producing Halo action figures. Here’s some various facts and tidbits that I learned during my time with McFarlane Toys at the 2016 Toy Fair: These Halo toys all look amazing in person, and I am definitely going to miss the astonishing level of sculpting detail and paint deco that McFarlane Toys put into every action figure that they produced. I know that this comes as a huge shock to hundreds (if not thousands) of hardcore Halo collectors in the community–as well as myself–but at the very least, we can take consolation that Halo 5 Series 2–including the highly-anticipated Spartan Buck figure–will still be released shortly.Īll four of the Halo 5 Wave 2 figures were on display in both packaged and loose form at the New York Toy Fair 2016, and I took the best photos I was able to of all of them. The bad news is that I confirmed with McFarlane Toys that this will, in fact, be the final set of Halo action figures that McFarlane releases. The good news is that production has been completed on the McFarlane Toys Halo 5 Guardians Wave 2 figures, which are still due to be released this winter. How the Spirit of Fire developed new vehicles in isolation while stranded across the galaxy, I really have no idea.Well, there’s some good news and some bad news coming out of Toy Fair this weekend. With such light armaments–and armor–the UNSC Jackrabbit bike is clearly going to be a scout vehicle new for Halo Wars 2. While the Mega Bloks Spartan Douglas-042 figure is the high point of this set for me, the little UNSC Jackrabbit vehicle is pretty neat as well. Alice and Jerome (Red Leader) will be packed with the still-unnamed eight-wheeled cannon vehicle that was shown at Toy Fair. The 31848 Jackrabbit Blitz Halo Mega Bloks set specifically will include a Spartan Douglas-042 figure, who will come with two black Magnums that he can dual-wield. Red Team got their own 5 inch action figures from McFarlane Toys years ago, but now they’re finally going to get the Mega Bloks Halo figure treatment I’ve always wanted for them as part of this year’s Mega Bloks Halo Wars 2 series! ![]() ![]() ![]() And as such, I’ve got a special place in my heart for Jerome, Alice and Douglas–the long-lost Red Team Halo Wars Spartans. First-person shooters just aren’t in-line with my slow reflexes and lack of directional awareness.īut Halo Wars–man, that was the game that really made me fall in love with Halo video games. Considering how many years I’ve been running Halo Toy News, it’s probably going to surprise some folks to hear that I absolutely suck at regular Halo games.
